El regulador de presión diferencial mantiene constante, en el valor programado, la diferencia de presión existente entre dos puntos de un circuito hidráulico. La válvula de equilibrado (corte y prerregulación), tiene la función de ajustar el caudal de fluido caloportador que alimenta la parte del circuito controlada por el regulador de presión diferencial. La posibilidad de regular los valores de presión diferencial, frente a caudales de diseño predeterminados, evita el ruido de funcionamiento y la alta velocidad en las instalaciones de caudal variable. La serie propuesta puede aplicarse en cualquier tipo de instalación: - por zonas o con tuberías ascendentes; - instalaciones con calderas de condensación; - sistemas de telecalefacción; - instalaciones de caudal variable con válvulas de dos vías termostáticas o modulantes.
